About Us

Community-rooted. Compassion-driven.

A local nonprofit serving Eagle, Garfield, and Pitkin counties since 2008.

Our Story

HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley was born from a simple but urgent truth: families across our region deserved access to compassionate, dignified care close to home. In 2008, two nurses and a chaplain came together to fill that gap — working tirelessly to build an organization from the ground up because they believed no one should face life’s most difficult moments without the right support.

That founding spirit still drives everything we do. As the only local nonprofit hospice serving Eagle, Garfield, and Pitkin counties, we remain deeply connected to the communities we serve — supported by a Board of Directors who live and work here, staffed by people who are invested in this region, and supported by volunteers and donors who believe in our mission.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide compassionate and dignified palliative and end-of-life care to patients and their families.

Our Values

Our values shape the way we care for patients, support families, and show up for our community — every single day.

What We Believe

Our values are not just words on a page. They are the foundation of every decision we make and every interaction we have.

  • We believe every life is sacred and that every individual deserves to die with dignity.
  • We believe everyone deserves to know and understand their options for end-of-life care.
  • We believe no one should live in pain.
  • We believe no one should die feeling alone.
  • We believe people of all ages deserve to have their grief honored and their lives celebrated.
