HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley’s Website Project Receives Funding from Next50
Glenwood Springs, CO – April 7, 2026 — HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley’s website has received funding from Next50, a national foundation based in Colorado that supports efforts to improve the lives of older adults and their caregivers. This funding will allow HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley to grow its effort to support older adults in Eagle, Garfield and Pikin Counties.
“We’re committed to meeting the unique and varied needs of older adults in our area, so we are excited to upgrade our website and marketing efforts,” said Peter Schoomaker, Director, HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley. “We are incredibly grateful to Next50 for their generous support in helping us restore and enhance our website. This upgrade is more than just a refresh, it is a vital step forward in how we connect with the communities we serve.”
Many of the individuals and families we care for live in rural areas where access to information and resources can be limited, Schoomaker said.
“With an improved, more accessible website, we will be able to reach more people and ensure that those in need can easily find the compassionate care and support they deserve,” he said.
This investment will have a lasting impact on our ability to serve with dignity, connection, and care, Schoomaker added.
“It’s expensive to age in this country,” said Peter Kaldes, President & CEO of Next50. “That’s why we seek partners like HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley who will change the status quo and help create a world that values aging.”

About HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley
HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Governed by a local Board of Directors who live and work within the communities we serve, our team of leaders, employees, and volunteers is guided by the core values of dignity, comfort, trust, peace, hope, and stewardship in all that we do.
Founded in 2008 by two nurses and a chaplain, HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley was established to meet a critical need for hospice services in the region. What began with humble beginnings has grown into a trusted source of support for those facing serious illness. Our mission is to help patients and their families live well in the comfort of their homes, enhancing quality of life and creating meaningful moments together during life’s most challenging times.
About Next50
Next50 is a Colorado-based national foundation that works toward a society that values aging and makes growing older an empowering, fulfilling experience. Today, our systems in the U.S. don’t prioritize our economic well-being as we age, which causes widespread economic hardship for older adults and their families. That’s why we focus on funding innovative and equitable programs that create economic opportunity for older adults, especially in low-income communities and communities of color. We fund programming in three key areas: ending age-related bias and discrimination; advancing digital equity so technology is available to all; and making it possible for people to age where they want to live.
