Glenwood Springs, Colo. — HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kelli Konst-Skwiot, MD, as its new Medical Director, further strengthening the organization’s commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals and families across the Roaring Fork Valley and surrounding communities.
Dr. Konst-Skwiot brings nearly two decades of medical experience and a deep passion for relationship-based care. She received her Bachelor of Science from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1998, followed by a Master’s in Health Service Administration from Saint Joseph’s College in Maine. She earned her medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in 2005 and completed her residency at the University of North Carolina MAHEC Rural Family Practice Program, where she was honored as Chief Resident.
Following her residency, Dr. Konst-Skwiot served patients at an underserved health clinic in Ohio before relocating to Glenwood Springs in 2010, where she has been practicing medicine ever since. Known affectionately by her patients as “Dr. Kelli,” she is widely respected for her compassionate approach, clinical excellence, and dedication to whole-person care.
“Dr. Konst-Skwiot’s leadership, experience, and heart for patients align beautifully with our mission, and we are honored to welcome her to our team,” Peter Schoomaker, Administrator of HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley said.
Dr. Konst-Skwiot shared that her decision to step into this role was driven by a shared mission and values.
“My passion is establishing deep, long-lasting relationships with my patients and their families regardless of their payor status,” she said. “I believe deeply in meeting people where they are, and I am excited to bring that philosophy to HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley.”
Dr. Konst-Skwiot lives in Glenwood Springs with her husband, Dr. Mathew Skwiot, an emergency medicine physician, and their four sons. As a family, the Skwiots enjoy Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle, including hiking, biking, camping, and sharing a love of cooking together.
