Palliative Care

Palliative care offers a wide array of services focused on patient-centered outcomes such as quality of life, symptom burden, emotional well-being, and caregiver needs. It emphasizes interdisciplinary team-driven care with clear communication and continuity of care. It is available to people seeking curative treatment for acute or chronic illnesses.

Palliative care achieves higher quality health care at a lower cost. Home-based palliative care has reduced emergency department visits, hospital admissions and hospital length of stay.

The Paul Bushong Palliative Fellowship offered exclusively thorugh HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley is currently in the inaugural year. It is enabling all of our palliative care providers to obtain their Hospice and Palliative Care Certification through the Hospice and Palliative credentialing center. This program is exposing them to the latest research in palliation to ensure they can provide the highest quality of care to our patients in a rapidly developing field.
