Sylvia Allais, Executive DirectorSylvia Allais, RN, Executive Director

Sylvia received a Baccalaureus Degree in Nursing Science & Midwifery from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa and completed graduate studies in Nursing Administration and Education at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Currently she is enrolled in her MSN in operational leadership through Quinnipiac University and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Prior to immigrating to the United States of America, she specialized in adult and adolescent psychiatry and taught Fundamentals of Nursing, Psychology and Sociology at a nursing college affiliated with the University of Pretoria. In 1998 she was recruited to work in the United States during the national nursing shortage and after passing the US Nursing State Boards relocated to Toms River, New Jersey where she worked in a cardiac progressive care unit. After moving to Connecticut, she became a US citizen and worked in the Hospital of St. Raphael in neonatal intensive care while case managing adult and pediatric cases in home health. In 2004 she joined The Connecticut Hospice Inc. as a nurse leader and worked in different leadership capacities including Supervisor of Clinical Services, Director of Home Health, Director of Hospice, Chief Quality Officer and Vice President of Compliance.

Sylvia joined Masonicare in 2015 as the Director of Hospice & Palliative Care and was promoted to the position of Vice President of Quality in oversight of the state-wide continuum of care providing senior services in acute care, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, independent and assisted livings, home health, hospice and private duty. Through a national search, Sylvia was recruited to join HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley as the Executive Director and is in oversight of Home Health, Hospice and Private Duty.
